For the first time since the site’s launch on June 29, 2020, We Were Inverted has gained a new wingman. His name is Greg and you can check out his profile to learn how I came to meet him only a few weeks ago. It really is a story that seemed to happen by chance, but also like it was kind of destined to happen. It’s not every day you find someone into an obscure hobby like roller coasters on a day you normally wouldn’t have been off to begin with.
As for the header image on this page and his, he asked me if he could have Great Bear for his page. Sam, however, already had Great Bear because it was her favorite coaster. I say “was” because on a trip with Sam, Greg, and Renee just yesterday, Sam found herself a brand new favorite coaster in Hydra: The Revenge at Dorney Park. I won’t go into too much detail on that as I plan to discuss that in the park report for our trip to Dorney soon.
With two amusement parks and a mountain coaster now under his belt with me, it felt only right to get my newest friend onto the site. He’s a coaster enthusiast if I ever saw one and I can’t wait to go out and visit more parks with him. Both Sam and Renee agree.
“Patrick, I think we can keep him,” Renee said when we were walking around Dorney Park.
Sam also enjoyed Greg’s energy while on rides, especially since she sometimes still gets a bit of anxiety on the first ride or two of the day. She told him that she appreciated him being her “hype man” and making her feel at ease. So it’s just not me who already thinks Greg is a perfect fit for this crew. I hope he gets to meet some of the other crew members soon. I’m sure he will.
As you can see, meeting people into the hobby and hitting up some parks together is a very real thing. So if you ever want to head out to a park that I’ll be attending…
