New We Were Inverted Layout & Blog Backlog

Last weekend I buckled down to finalize the first, I’m sure of many, eventual redesigns of We Were Inverted. When I launched this site at the end of June, I was pushing hard to have things done to coincide with Hersheypark’s King-Sized Members Preview Day. I wanted to have something out on Candymonium on Day 1 and I did. In the process, however, I was a little less creative with some of the site’s layout in getting things off the ground.

For the first month I messed with a few items throughout the site, but I mostly focused on getting some blogs up and running. I reported on some of my park trips, threw a retro recap of some mountain coasters I rode back in 2019, and reported on how I won a season pass to Kennywood for 2021. Most recently, I gave my thoughts in a four-part series called, “Intamin or Imitation?,” covering the company’s four new ride concepts.

The site’s blog was going to plan. I was happy with the regular additions I was making. As for the visual appeal of the site, that I wanted to work on. Once I did, boy did it ever come together!

After I came up with the redesign for the site’s front page (above), I pushed myself hard for several days to get each and every page finished by Monday, August 10, 2020. Why? Well, I had plans to meet with Knoebel’s Public Relations Director, Stacy Ososkie, on that date for some upcoming blog features. That meeting was months in the making and I felt compelled to have all of We Were Inverted to my liking. With that day looming over me, I spent hours in front of the computer, getting the last page of the redesign finished about an hour before I went to bed on Sunday, August 9.

With my focus back on laying out the site and its design elements, I did put the blog on the back burner for a bit. The only blogs I published during that time were the “CAG Report – August 2020,” and the “Intamin or Imitation?” series. As I published those blogs, I knew I wanted to get some blogs written about my most recent park trips. With that being said, I’m going to go ahead and get them up here onto the site now that the redesign and “Intamin or Imitation?” series is finished.

In the next few days you will see trip reports from Hersheypark (Monday, July 27), Wisp Resort (Thursday, July 30), Lakemont Park (Thursday, July 30), Knoebels (Monday, August 10), and Six Flags America (Tuesday, August 11). I better get on them though because tomorrow I’m headed to Camelback Mountain Adventure and Dorney Park with Sam, Renee, and Greg. Then on Sunday, August 16 (National Roller Coaster Day), I will be headed to Six Flags Great Adventure. I couldn’t pass it up, even though it wasn’t in my plans originally. They’re offering members a Kingda Ka pin, while supplies last. As you all know, I collect pins and I don’t have a Kingda Ka one in my collection.

Even though I’ve been to a great many parks in such a short time this summer, if you find yourself headed to a park on the Eastern United States, let me know, Maybe I’ll be free to attend and then…

You can be my wingman anytime!
