Man, not going to the parks as often as I did the last two years has sucked! July 2022 marks another month where I had limited trips while I search for a full-time job. That’s what is taking priority for me right now, but I’ve still tried to enjoy this hobby when I can. It also doesn’t help that the cost of everything is high right now. I don’t want to turn this CAG Report into a piece where I dwell, however. Instead, let me focus on the fun I did have with the crew.
An Ever-Growing Presence on RCDB
Over a decade ago I submitted a handful of photos to the Roller Coaster Database (RCDB) and had most of them published. It made me so happy to see my own photos there for other enthusiasts to look through and hopefully enjoy. Years went by and then I submitted some photos of Candymonium from the King-Sized Members Pass Holder Preview Event at the end of June 2020. Those were the first photos I sent featuring the We Were Inverted watermark.
Jump ahead to 2022 and I was sitting at my computer one night asking myself why I haven’t submitted more. With thousands of photos here on the site in my own galleries, I decided to go ahead and send some more. Sadly, I think I sent too many all at once. Sorry Rik!
After exchanging a few emails, we came up with a way for me to send over large groupings of photos, featuring different rides, from different parks, and done on different days. I currently have 268 photos listed on RCDB under my name. While it doesn’t show what photos I submitted on that page, check out a few of the links below. There are plenty more on the site and I will be sending more as weeks go by.
It's Not Always About the Coasters
July sure had it’s moments when it came to scorching hot weather. There was even one weekend where I told my brother that I think I would have been miserable had I been at an amusement park, Blasphemy, I know!
Anyhow, with all the heat, I thought it would be nice to celebrate the rides that cool you off while out at the park. On the We Were Inverted YouTube channel I published two videos to go along with that idea. The first one was a on-ride POV of BGW’s Le Scoot log flume. The second, a small off-ride video of Shipwreck Falls at Six Flags America (SFA). Be sure to check those out if you haven’t already.
While on the subject of YouTube, for those of you who enjoy my videos, please take a second to like, share, and subscribe. I never really ask because you hear every other YouTuber out there ask, so I figured it was a given at this point. But maybe not? Most of my views come from non-subscribers.
Just a Few New Pins
With watching my funds these last few months, the addition of new pins has also slowed down significantly. The five you see above were it for July. Sam bought me the wooden coaster pin set from one of her Hersheypark visits. She’s the best! The SFA pins I grabbed when Sam and I stopped by the park after spending the day down in Washington, D.C. Check out the entire pin collection to see hundreds more.
A Stop at My Home Parks
July only saw two park trips take place. The first, to SFA, took place early in the month and was only a quick, two-hour stay. We got in our fair share of rides, although ran into an irritating issues while riding Wild One. I won’t get into what happened here again, but you can read all about it in the that visit’s trip report. I’ll leave the link to that and the only other trip from July down below.
Speaking of the second trip, that saw me visiting Hersheypark for the first time this year. It took place on the final day of the month, which also happened to be Wildcat’s final day of operations. I featured Josh’s vlog within that trip report, so be sure to watch and support his work as well. More on him and his Cheapthusiast co-star, Aaron, in a bit.

Josh Gets His Wish in August
For those of you who watched Josh’s vlog from our Hersheypark trip on Sunday, you heard him crying about how he’s not a part of the We Were Inverted Flight Crew. He made a joke about it a year ago and I told him since he runs his own site and channel, he was more like an ally. Yeah, I go hard on the cheesy naval/flight puns. Anyhow, I decided to go ahead and recruit Aaron while we was complaining, but don’t worry Josh, I love you too. You will both become members of the crew here in August.
Right now you’ll find both Josh and Aaron on the Flight Crew page, but I am still in the process of creating their pages. It looks like I will also have to go back and add their headshots onto the trip reports from the past. See how much work you make me do, Josh?
All kidding aside, I love getting to hang out with both these guys. It’s always a fun time. This hobby has allowed me to meet so many people out there – people I now consider good friends. I can’t wait to get back out to some more parks these two fellas soon.
