Wingman Bio

Carrie and her dad, Chris D., love visiting their home park, Busch Gardens Williamsburg every chance they get.

I met Carrie for the first time in July 2020 during a visit to Six Flags America. She came up with her dad, Chris, to ride some roller coasters, meeting up with both Sam and myself. The Covid-19 pandemic had been going on for a few months at that point and all of us were looking to some rides. Since Maryland opened up parks before Virginia, their home state, it looked like we’d have to get our fix on Superman Ride of Steel, Batwing, Firebird, and the rest of the park’s offerings.

Naturally, all of us made sure to get in a ride on The Great Chase kiddie coaster too, which I promptly shared a photo of to the Facebook group, Coaster Coaster Appreciation Society (CAS). CAS is a group we all belong to and have met several other enthusiasts from. As a matter of fact, that is how both Chris and I met to begin with.

Later in 2020, I got to have Carrie as a wingman two more times – both at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Sam and Greg were also along and loved getting themselves some new, memorable credits. We rode every coaster in the park during those visits, getting on them multiple times each. It didn’t matter if we were jumping on Verbolten, or trying to catch up to Sam running to Alpengeist. Carrie was always right there with us loving every single ride with all of us. Now, if Sam could just get her to ride the back row on Alpengeist with her, she’d be so happy.
