One year ago today, on June 29, 2020, I walked into Hersheypark for a King-Sized Season Pass Holder Preview Day to ride Candymonium. I got there around noon, shot a bunch of content on my new GoPro, got in my first and only ride, and hurried back home. I wanted to be one of the first people to share my thoughts and photos of Candymonium online. The thing is though, when I finished that blog, not only did I have to upload it to the internet, but I had to upload the entire site along with it. You see, June 29, 2020 also marks the day We Were Inverted went live.
This past year I’ve spent hundreds of hours at this keyboard, writing out trip reports, resizing countless photos, rendering videos for the We Were Inverted YouTube account. Even when laying in bed, trying to relax, I’m often scrolling through photos to share to the site’s Instagram account (@WeWereInverted_IG). You know what though? I wouldn’t have it any other way. And I have so many people to thank for their support during this “roller coaster” ride.
With too many to thank individually, I’m going to keep it simple. For every person who read a blog, liked a photo on social media, or watched a video on YouTube. Thank you. For amusement who invited me out for an event or article. Thank you. To my fellow enthusiasts who let me interview you, or who submitted your photos for a feature. Thank you. For every friend of mine who has been there since this was just an idea in my head and offered encouragement. Thank you. For those new friends I met, both online and in person. Thank you.
With that said, I want to end this thank you with various photos from some of the adventures I’ve experienced with my friends so far. I can’t wait to make all new memories and hope these next 12 months are just as memorable as the first.
