In the days leading up to our Kings Dominion trip on Friday, July 16, 2021, I asked Kaylee if she wanted to grab a bonus credit while we were out. She liked the idea, especially since she wasn’t sure when she’d be back in Virginia again. I sent her the Fun Land of Fredericksburg (FoF) site link and told her how a stop at FoF is practically a tradition since the site’s launch. Over the last few years, I’ve made stops so a few crew members could add Twist-n-Shout to their credit lists.
Back in December 2020, I visited the establishment with Sam and Greg, filming the both of them on the way down to Busch Gardens Williamsburg (BGW). Last month Sam and I stopped again, this time with Mindy, Mailyn, and her friend, Carley after leaving Kings Dominion. Now it was Kaylee’s turn.
I Elected to Film Instead of Riding
When we arrived at FoF, it was going on 8:30 p.m. The place was hopping, both inside and out. Kaylee grabbed enough credits so she could ride and then she jumped in line. I ran off to the left side of the ride and attempted some creative shots. I didn’t do as well as I had hoped, but I did get the funky motion blur shot used for this blog’s feature photo. With all the lights on this ride and the spinning taking place, those light trails sure make the ride look like the most insane spinning ride ever created. It looks like a tornado.
Once Kaylee’s ride came to an end, I shot a few more still photos, like the one above, before we went on our way. We talked about doing some of the other attractions, but once again, it was a Twist n Shout only visit. Kaylee wanted to do the go karts, but she was wearing sandals.
I wouldn’t have minded a round of mini-golf, but it was getting late and we already had a long day between the traffic and time spent in the heat at Kings Dominion. Plus, I know how much Greg loves mini-golf, so I’d love for him to be there if/when we do a round of golf.
One of these days I’m going to give this place more time. There is so much to do and every time I leave, I’m bummed that I still haven’t check everything out. Until then, however, anytime one of the crew members needs a credit stop for Twist n Shout, I’m sure we’ll be by. Why brake with tradition?
