As 2021 draws to a close, I asked some of the We Were Inverted Flight Crew to take part in a mini-interview to share some of their experiences from throughout the year. Learn about their new credits and learn about some of their fondest memories spent at amusement parks this year.
New Coaster Credits
Q. How many new credits did you gain in 2021?
A. I was able to get 46 new credits.
Q. Of those credits, what was your favorite steel coaster?
A. Geeze, man. I rode some kick ass rides this year across so many great parks. Honestly, I can’t make up my mind between Steel Vengeance or Copperhead Strike.
Q. How about wooden coaster? Which was your favorite of the year?
A. Easily Great White at Morey’s Piers. That thing was hauling all three times we rode it! I couldn’t get enough.
New Parks Visited
Q. Did you get to visit any new parks in 2021? If so, which one(s) did you enjoy the most?
A. Yes. I. Did. I had the pleasure of visiting Kennywood, Morey’s Piers, Dutch Wonderland, Canada’s Wonderland, and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. I had such great times at all of them. I enjoyed all these parks for different reasons. I loved Kennywood’s and Dutch Wonderland’s charm, Morey’s setting right by the beach, Canada’s Wonderland for its great main entrance that is just mesmerizing, and the quarry surrounding Fiesta Texas was just so cool looking. Pictures don’t do it justice.
2021 Memories & 2022 Hopes
Q. What are some of your favorite memories from your trips in 2021?
A. The entire Wildwood/Ocean City, N.J. day was just perfect to me. The weather was great, a nice breeze, fantastic rides, and everyone just seemed to be in good spirits, enjoying life. That day had it all.
The Kennywood trip was incredible too! Not a single ride down and I reached my 100th credit that day too at Fun Fore All afterward.
The Carowinds trip was also so soul enriching. I had my friends meet some of my family. We all got along so well. Made my hear full to see so many meaningful people in my life having a good time.
Q. What are some of your hopes/goals for trips in 2022?
A. Getting back to doing what I love. Visiting more parks and riding more rides with the crew again. Sadly, I had to be absent the last half of the year on most trips due to low funds. I’m raring to go though, especially when it comes to Pantheon. I’m also planning on going back to Canada’s Wonderland again and riding the credits I missed out on during the busy day we experienced this year. Bring on 2022!
A lot of great memories at various amusement parks on numerous roller coasters were experienced throughout 2021. It was great getting to relive these experiences and we hope that you enjoyed reading about each and every one of them as they happened here on We Were Inverted. We can’t wait to share more with you in 2022 and beyond.
