I’d like to welcome you to the We Were Inverted Blog – a place where I will post regular articles focused around roller coasters and the amusement park industry. With a background in journalism, mostly focusing on arts and entertainment, having a place for me to share my thoughts on this site was a must. This isn’t going to be just a place for me to ramble on about what’s in my head though! I have much bigger plans for this site’s blog section.
The types of articles I am planning to include within this blog include: ride/park reviews, interviews with other hobbyists, trip reports, reactions to breaking news, and everyone’s favorite, Top 10 Lists. Hey, if they weren’t popular, YouTube wouldn’t be full of them.
In addition to all those things, however, the one thing I really want to do again is in-depth features. Getting out to do some research on a particular theme, interviewing others, and compiling what I learn into nice, concise article is my ultimate goal.
During my days as a journalist, I was awarded numerous awards by the MDDC Press Association for some of my feature articles, page layouts, as well as advertisements that I personally designed. I’m ready to get back into the game, combining my love of writing, photography, graphic/web design, and of course, roller coasters, into some stories that I can share with all of you.
Upcoming Plans
On that note, I have already reached out to Knoebels about the possibility of going to the park and working with them on several features I have in mind. They were very receptive to the idea, which has me excited to make that all happen. First, however, I wanted to get this site up and running. Now that it is, I will be reaching out to them soon. I will just have to balance everything with my busy work schedule. Sadly, this is not my full-time job, or a job at all really. Hey, maybe one day?
I hope you enjoy the articles here. I’d love to know what you think. Be sure to leave me a comment down below and if you have any story suggestions, I’d love to read them.
